Congratulations to Park Road

Angels at Play Park Road was recently chosen to be part of a UK wide Ofsted Inspection programme looking at ‘narrowing the gap in literacy and numeracy’.
The Ofsted inspector spent time in our Pre-school rooms, with the Carers and children and also spent a brief time in with the Under 2’ areas.
We are delighted to advise that the outcome of the inspection was that the Nursery was awarded an Outstanding.

A copy of the report in full for you to see will be added soon, however here is a taste of some of the inspector’s comments:

• The overall effectiveness of provision for literacy and numeracy was judged to be outstanding
  
• The staff know their key children exceptionally well and can develop their literacy and numeracy skills effectively through every activity
• Literacy and numeracy are extremely well integrated within all tasks, either individual, small or large group, enabling the children to develop these skills through play
• You know the children and their families very well and have found super ways of trying to encourage parents to find out about their child’s learning
• The quality of leadership and management is outstanding
• The children are well nourished and ready to learn
• The staff have found effective ways of communicating through sign, gesture and pictures with children who learn English as an additional language. They take every opportunity to reinforce words and help the child to communicate in English
• The curriculum offered is diverse and non-stereotypical, with books and pictures to support learning
